In the guichang, the upper garment was opened at the front and was tied at the waist. It is characterized with wide and loose sleeves, along with wide loose waist and lower hem; these features made them comfortable to wear. In recent years, the modern cheongsam has become increasingly popular among young people. It would be a shame not to mention all of the cultural and historical shows that have begun to appear in recent years. China has embraced Western fashion and futuristic technology as its economy boomed in recent decades, but a growing number of young people like Xiao are looking to the past for their sartorial choices and donning traditional “hanfu”, or “Han clothing”.
